Restaurant Description

We provide the food and wine, you bring the conversation. Maialino Enoteca Italiana is Sicilian Social Dining. Our traditional dishes are prepared with the most authentic ingredients and are all garnished with care. Food is the great connector….we’re harbingers of great Sicilian cuisine.

Maialino Enoteca Italiana is a Sicilian culinary experience unlike anything Toronto has experienced before. Authentic and traditional dishes, a rich selection of Italian wines, and beautiful charcuterie abound in this Parkdale restaurant…

Slide on into a booth and take a trip to the Southern Italian region of Sicily while you bask in fond conversation and an intimate atmosphere. Let us guide you with traditional recipes, updated classics, and Old World flavours. We’re a place like none other in Toronto; a restaurant where owners and chef come round to share in the experience. A warm and inviting place where Sicilian food and Italian wine shares the spotlight with the company you bring.

The name Maialino, which translates to “little pig,” came from our original idea of opening up a small charcuterie bar. All our charcuterie was to be made from pork meat. So the name Maialino was a perfect fit. When Owner Mike met Chef Roberto through a mutual supplier, the charcuterie bar idea was scrapped in favour of a traditional Sicilian restaurant. The “little pig,” however, stayed…

Mike knew how he wanted Maialino to look, but bringing the design to life required the talented skills of his friend and designer Patrizia Rosati. (She also designed the look of Mike’s other Toronto establishment, Barista Espresso Bar.) The result is an inviting, sometimes calm, oftentimes frenetic, but always comforting space. Join us for a glass of vino and see for yourself…
